What is the difference between lip filler and a lip flip?

Lip filler is used to increase volume, help hydrate, and help with the appearance of lines in the lips. It is used to physically make the lips appear larger using a hyaluronic acid (gel-like substance) filler.

Lip flip uses a couple units of tox that is injected to the upper and sometimes lower lip that flips up the lip (particularly noticed when you smile) to avoid the lip from curling inward when you smile, making it lose volume. There is zero volume/size added to the lip, however can still make a noticeable visible change to the lip.

The glabella complex (also known as the “11’s in between the eyebrows) can be softened with around 10-20 units (depending on how strong the muscle is).

Treating this area consists of injecting all 3 muscles: Procerus muscle and both of your corrugator muscles. These muscles work hard creating the stubborn 11 lines, making it important to not under treat this area.

There’s no downtime, bruising, or swelling to this. It’s normal for injection sites to look like baby mosquito bites for no more than 15 minutes afterwards.

Full effects are seen at the 2-week mark, with maintenance needed every 3-4 months.
